Country Garden Builds the World’s First-ever Robot Restaurant Complex in Guangdong, China

In a groundbreaking move that is set to revolutionize the dining experience, Country Garden has unveiled what it claims to be the world’s first-ever robot restaurant complex in Guangdong, China. This modern eatery, operated by Qianxi Robot Catering Group, a subsidiary of Country Garden, is a testament to the power of advanced technologies in shaping the future of the food industry.

A Futuristic Dining Experience

The restaurant, located in Shunde, a city in China’s Guangdong province, boasts separate sections for Chinese food, hot pot, and fast food, offering a wide selection of dishes that are delivered to diners within seconds. With over 20 in-house developed robots catering to different restaurant styles such as Chinese cuisine, clay-pot rice, and noodle shops, the 2,000 square meters of modern restaurant space can accommodate nearly 600 diners at one time.

The efficiency of the restaurant is truly remarkable, with each of the 200 menu items being served up in as little as 20 seconds. This speed and precision are made possible by the seamless integration of software and hardware, as well as the collaboration between man and machine. Zhao Chunsheng, a mechanical engineering specialist and academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, lauds the innovative approach of the Qianxi robot restaurant, highlighting its potential to revolutionize the industry.

Adapting to the New Normal

In the wake of the global pandemic, the concept of robot-run restaurants has gained traction as a way to reduce human-to-human contact and ensure a safe dining environment. This new style of dining is not only in line with the current situation but also reflects a broader trend towards automation and technology in the food service industry.

Qianxi Group’s ambitious plans for expansion further underscore the potential of robot-run restaurants to transform the dining landscape. By building more centralized kitchens and ramping up production of robots, the group aims to meet the growing demand for smart dining solutions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Setting Industry Standards

The release of the technical specification for robot safety certification in the food sector by China marks a significant milestone in the development of smart dining technologies. This joint effort between the National Robot Testing and Accreditation Center (NRTAC) and Qianxi Group’s technology subsidiary Zhiyuan sets a new benchmark for safety and quality in the industry.

Qianxi Group’s commitment to innovation is further demonstrated by its lineup of second-generation robots, which have already received China Robot certifications from the NRTAC. These robots, trained to cook clay pot rice and make mini-ice creams, showcase the group’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of culinary automation.

Strategic Partnerships for Growth

In a strategic move to accelerate the digital development of the smart dining segment, Qianxi Group has entered into partnerships with industry leaders such as Siemens (China) and Beijing Beichen Industrial Group Co. These collaborations aim to leverage the latest technologies to enhance the dining experience and showcase the integration of smart technologies with Chinese cuisine culture.

The future of dining is here, and it is powered by robots. With the world’s first-ever robot restaurant complex in Guangdong, China, Country Garden and Qianxi Group are leading the way in revolutionizing the food service industry. As technology continues to advance and consumer preferences evolve, robot-run restaurants are poised to become the new standard in dining experiences.
